Rob Lutts Visits Brazil for Conference and Research Trip

Rob Lutts, Cabot's president and chief investment officer, is on the move again. As many of you may be aware, Rob takes annual trips to China and other emerging markets, such as Singapore and Vietnam, to attend conference and conduct on-the-ground research.

This week Rob is in Sao Paulo, Brazil on a seven-day research trip and will also attend Credit Suisse's Equity Ideas Conference 2010, which will be held from January 27th - 29th. Rob will visit about 20 companies and meet with financial experts and economists to learn about more opportunities in Brazil.

Dennis Wassung is Promoted to Associate Portfolio Manager

We are pleased to announce that Dennis has been promoted from equity analyst to associate portfolio manager. Dennis is responsible for managing growth equity portfolios, and identifying and monitoring those companies that are well-positioned to take advantage of growth opportunities throughout the globe and in the areas of the emerging markets and alternative energy in particular. Prior to Cabot, he spent eight years as an equity research analyst at Canaccord Adams (formerly Adams Harkness & Hill) in Boston, covering growth stocks in a range of global technology and industrial sectors. He is a frequent contributor to the financial media, including CNBC and Fox Business News. Dennis graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York and obtained his bachelor of science in mechanical engineering, cum laude. He also holds an MBA from the University of Southern California's Marshall School of Business, and is a CFA® charterholder.

Suzanne Carella Joins the Cabot Team

Suzanne provides direct support to our trading and operations manager. As an operations and trading associate, she works closely with the portfolio management team to effect best execution for trades.  Suzanne responsibilities include assisting in trade order creation and execution, account reconciliation, researching and processing corporate actions as well as identifying and implementing system automation functions.  She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Merrimack College. Prior to joining Cabot, Suzanne began her career at Putnam Investments where she worked for eight years.  She held various roles including client servicing, reconciliation, and performance reporting and analysis.  She has also worked with State Street Global Advisors and BTS Asset Management. 

WE ARE BRINGING NAPLES TO YOU: Individual Meetings Present Greater Opportunity to Connect with Clients

As many of our clients know, it is around this time of the year that we begin planning our annual Florida Financial Conference that takes place in Naples. However, after much thought and consideration, we have decided to temporarily postpone the conference in Florida for 2010. We carefully weighed the pros and cons and came to the conclusion that suspending the conference presents a greater opportunity for our clients in that our financial counselors and portfolio managers will have more time to schedule more client trips and organize individualized, private client meetings. We feel that focusing on increased client interaction is more beneficial, especially during these challenging economic times we currently face. Cabot's 20th Annual Investment Conference and Luncheon

We hosted our 20th Annual Investment Conference and Luncheon here in Salem, MA at the end of September. The event was well attended with over 100 clients and guests anxious to hear about progress made since the failure of several large banking institutions one year prior as well as Cabot's outlook on the future and an open forum in which attendees could have their questions and concerns directly addressed by our portfolio management team. Cabot’s Annual Florida Financial Conference

Cabot held its annual Florida Financial Conference at the Naples Grande Resort & Beach Club. Clients and guests were invited to attend presentations that included a tax regulatory update, a review of events occurring in 2008 as well as possible opportunities stemming from these events in 2009. The keynote presentation given by Rob Lutts focused on “Embracing Change and Overcoming Challenges,” a very important theme during these difficult times. eCabot.com Gets a Facelift

In an effort to better serve our clients, we have redesigned the Cabot Money Management, Inc. company website. The newly redesigned site provides online visitors with remarkable improvements in navigation and appearance as well as informative web content that is delivered in a more clear, organized fashion.

Our new site was developed based on feedback since the last redesign launched in 2002 and has been rebuilt from the ground up, in an effort to remain consistent with today’s Internet technology. In addition to enhanced technology, the website is intended to be more user friendly; therefore, a simpler navigation system was crucial for our content-rich website. We feel visitors should be able to find what they are looking for without having to dig through numerous pages.
